Our 50th reunion approaches quickly, July 13th and 14th. If you plan to attend, you can help the organizing committee by registering and paying online. If you do not have a computer or access to the internet, perhaps you can have a friend help you register and pay.

By your registering and paying online, we will be able to give accurate head counts to the caterer and restaurant, have the tables set for the right number of people. Of course, the food providers will charge our group the headcount we give them about ten days ahead of the event. We want everyone who attends to enjoy the two days we have planned.

o 9:30 AM to 11 AM, Tour the new Kearney High School

o 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM, Pastor Norm Jelken wants to encourage us about the Viet Nam war

o 5 PM to 10 PM, Social and Buffet

We have not reserved motel rooms but there are plenty to choose from in Kearney.

o Featuring Pete’s Patriot ‘68-‘69 AMX, Mike Knispel’s ’66 Plymouth Hemi, Rich Lacy’s ’66 Shelby Mustang and many other cars, see http://www.ccckearney.com/about-us/the-collection/car-list/

o 8 PM Brief program about Pete’s Patriot car by members of our class

o 8:30 PM group picture, to be picked up by you if you want a print

o $15 per person admission paid in advance no later than June 28 register at https://tinyurl.com/ya6lwkgq; catered by Cunninghams; includes pulled pork and brisket sliders, potato salad, beans, chips, iced tea, lemonade and water. A separate cash bar is provided at $5 for sodas, beer and wine. Mixed drinks $5.50.

2. Tour new Kearney High School facility, 2702 West 11th

o 9:30 – 11:00 AM

o No cost

 

3. Everyone is invited to hear Pastor Norm Jelken share his uplifting perspective regarding the Vietnam War at Perkins Restaurant, 609 Second Avenue;

o 11:45 AM – 1:15 PM

o Perkins has a back room to accommodate up to fifty people; indicate if you plan to attend, if there are more than fifty we can move to another location

o individual plates at your own expense

 

4. 5:00 PM Rekindle friendships at social hour in Ramada Inn, 301 Second Avenue; Cash bar available

o 6:00 – 7:00 PM Buffet at Ramada Inn – regulations require all buffets be left out only one hour after start time. Choose among three entrees: Sliced Brisket with BBQ Sauce; Braised Breast of Chicken with a Red Wine Mushroom Sauce or Grilled North Atlantic Salmon with a Caper Butter Sauce. o 7:00 – 10:00 PM Story time, bring your uplifting and funny stories; open microphone. We hope many people tell stories so pick one or two of your favorites to tell so others will have a chance to tell their stories also; socialize with cash bar available.
